1. The Happy Umbrella

Once upon a time, there lived a happy blue umbrella with white polka dots. She lived in a wonderful, loving family, where a small, delightful boy named Stas was growing up. He loved his umbrella very much, always took it with him on walks, and during his rainy, joyful days he always carried it with him. Running through deep puddles in his yellow rubber boots, he always played with his umbrella.

The umbrella, in turn, adored Stas. She loved the boy dearly, because whenever the sky was cloudy and gray, he took her with him. She always opened up and protected him from the strongest rain as well as the weakest, tiniest drizzle. She always admired from below the incredible smile of the happy little boy.

His bright, ringing laughter left warm feelings in the umbrella’s heart. She loved this family very much. His mother always dried her after rainy walks, leaving her open in the hallway. Sometimes she wiped her, but always kept her in order. The umbrella was always well-kept, beautiful, and clean.

2. The Day Everything Changed

One stormy day, Stas and his mother went to the clinic. Outside, heavy rain was falling, and of course, the umbrella was with them. She protected little Stas and his mother from the cold wind and rain. That is why she was happy — she could protect those she truly loved.

Stas’s mother left the umbrella in the hallway to dry. The umbrella stretched out and waited for Stas and his mother to come back for her. Hours passed, but neither Stas nor his mother appeared. The umbrella began to miss them. She felt very sad that no one was coming for her.

And so an entire day passed. The umbrella remained standing open in the clinic hallway — no one took her. She began to worry and feel anxious about why her owner hadn’t come. She was dry, but terribly sad. She missed little Stas, who had loved her so much.

3. In the Mud and the Rain

A few days later, the umbrella completely lost hope. She feared she was lost — and that is exactly what happened. Because no one picked her up for so long, some angry man took her, since unexpected rain fell that day and he had forgotten his own umbrella at home. So he took someone else’s without permission and walked out into the heavy rain and hail.
