In Prussian-oppressed Poland, gifted orphan Val Karnowski’s diary vividly chronicles his life amid 1848 revolutions. This deeply Catholic historical novel weaves daily entries, authentic clippings, folk customs, and real figures like Bismarck, Marx & Mieroslawski.
Amid plague, betrayal, and upheaval, young Val finds solace in faith and unlikely bonds. Witnessing Europe’s fight for freedom, it celebrates Poland’s enduring spirit and the courage of its smallest sons.
